🪐 THE SHIP

THE SHIP

The Mnemosyne is a state-of-the-art interstellar exploration vessel, designed for the ambitious mission of venturing beyond our galaxy. This impressive ship is a marvel of engineering and technology, combining cutting-edge features with a robust structure to ensure the success of its long-duration voyage.
60 years ago, the ship launched towards a stable wormhole that lead to the Andromeda galaxy, and every 5 years the skeleton crew is replaced by a new shift and go back to their cryo pods.
Capacity: Approximately 100,000 settlers and 300 crew members in cryosleep
Power Source: Stable Cold Fusion
Length: 600 feet (about 5 football fields)
Defense: 103 defensive cannons and two shield generators

THE BRIDGE
Command and Leadership
The bridge, otherwise known as the command deck, is a structure attached to A-Level. Once the central hub of a vessel's activity, serving as its primary command-and-control station, the bridge is now inaccessible for the awakened characters.
The elevator is out of order, and the room itself has been locked off by heavy blast doors and shields. L3TH3 vehemently refuses to open them, stating an unknown infection risk. If forced, she will activate a rather nasty laser trap...
However, according to a few transmissions, it seems like Captain Drake may still be alive inside?

A-LEVEL
Officers and Diplomacy
The round top portion of the ship that makes up A-Level is located right under the bridge and has a multitude of meeting rooms and diplomatic offices, as well as the war room and other tactical briefing stations. It is also the level where the officer rooms are found, including the captain's. The whole level has heightened security and many of the rooms need fingerprints or retinal scans from officers or security division members.

Key Features:
- Officer Bedrooms: These are luxuriously appointed quarters for high-ranking officers, more of a small apartment than a bedroom.
- Meeting Rooms: Specialized rooms for important briefings, strategy sessions, and high-level discussions.
- Diplomatic Rooms: These rooms are secure spaces for negotiations and discussions with external parties.
- Liaison Offices: For coordinating with representatives from other ships, stations, or planets.

B-LEVEL
Recreation and Support
This level holds both recreation and training to keep the crew's mind and body healthy, something that's vital on a very long space journey. It's also the location of the ship's mess hall where the crew can eat together if they wish. The mess hall has a kitchen with some stored non-perishable food, but most of it is synthesized by machines.
On the roof of B-Level are the generators of the main shield, and there are ladders located between the two holodecks for engineers to reach the machinery. The generators make a lot of noise when the shield is activated, so the recreation areas are shut down during shield use.

- Entertainment Areas: This level includes various recreational facilities to support the well-being and morale of the crew.
- Dining Facilities: A spacious dining area for shared crew meals, designed to accommodate all members comfortably. Food is made by combining amino-acids and other elements to synthesize any food you could want.
- Fitness Center: This place is equipped with exercise machines and weights for crew health.
- Relaxation Zone: Includes meditation rooms and therapeutic services.
- Social Spaces: There are a few comfortable lounges, bars, and entertainment areas.
- Event Facilities: Spaces for crew gatherings, events, and celebrations.
- Shield Generator 1: On the roof above this level are the ship's three massive spinning wheels, which generate the hard-light shield for protection during combat or hazardous conditions.
C-LEVEL
Crew Quarters and Medical Facilities
C-Level is where you find all the crew quarters. While the Mnemosyne is usually staffed by a small crew of 20 in cycles, there are enough rooms on this level to house the entire crew at once (300 people). The rooms aren't big, just enough to fit a bed and space for personal items, but they do come with their own bathroom.
This level is also where you find the medical bay. This state-of-the-art center has everything from general care to emergency surgery, and has been stocked with the very latest medical equipment - some that have not yet been in rotation on Tellus. There are several different patient wards and even space for medical science work and laboratories.

Key Features:
- General Crew Rooms: The accommodations for general crew members, designed for functionality and comfort.
- Medical Bay: Equipped with advanced medical facilities, including diagnostic and treatment areas for routine care and emergencies.
- Genomics and Biotech Labs: Labs for studying genetic material and developing biotech solutions.
- Long-Term Study Rooms: For observing and studying long-term effects of space travel on health.
- Pharmaceutical Development: Research and development of new treatments and medications.
- Engine 1: The back of this level is open to house the top part of Mnemosynes main engine, which reaches down to D-Level.

D-LEVEL
Science and Engineering
This level houses the brightest minds on Mnemosyne. The front area belongs to the scientists, with several labs and areas of work, as well as the gardens that are used both for study and to grow food.
The back area is where the engineers are found, as well as Mnemosyne's main engine and power generator. Their work do not only keep the ship running, but it also helps creating new things to make life easier aboard. There's also an elevator and ladders here that go directly down to the hangar.

Key Features:
- Science Labs: The main research facilities for conducting experiments, analyzing data, and studying alien biology, chemistry, and other sciences.
- Aeroponic Garden: An area for crops that are grown in a controlled environment using a soil-free system. The plants are suspended in air, and their roots are misted with a nutrient-rich solution, providing them with the nourishment to grow.
- Engineering Bay: Dedicated to ship maintenance, repairs, and enhancements, including work on propulsion, hard-light systems, and nanotechnology.
- Advanced Computing: High-performance computers for simulations and R&D.
- Collaboration Spaces: Open areas for interdisciplinary work between scientists and engineers.
- Fabrication Area: Facilities for constructing and modifying components and systems.

- Redundant Systems: Near the engine and power is the backup systems for ship navigation, power, and communications.
HANGAR
Security and Transportation
Mnemosyne's hangar does not only house several smaller ships, but also a variety of planetary transportation, such as hovertrucks and bikes. There are several repair stations, as well as a large storage of spare parts. The hangar floor opens to let out vehicles, shielded by Mneomsyne's 'legs'.
Further into the front of the hangar area is the security office, the main hub for the security division. It not only houses several surveillance channels, but also the ship's armory. If you've been breaking rules or there are enemies apprehended, this is also the location of the ship's brig, or jail.

Key Features:
- Security Offices: These are the headquarters for the ship’s security personnel, responsible for maintaining order and safety.
- Jail: A secure facility with 10 cells for detaining individuals who pose a threat to ship safety, or discipline. The cells are locked with hard-light doors.
- Landing Shuttles: Various shuttles for planetary landings and exploration.
- Fighter Ships: Two ships equipped with both weapons and a hard-light shield.
- Escape Pods: The whole bottom floor has emergency pods for crew evacuation in case of critical situations. One pod takes about 10 people.

CRYO BAY
They cryo bay is the largest part of the ship and spans from B-Level all the way down to the bottom. It is fully self-sufficient from the rest of the ship and can be detached from the main body in case of a catastrophic emergency.
The walls of this open area are filled with cryo pods, and the gravity is very low to allow technicians and those leaving the pods the ability to use railings to get to the revival rooms or simply sink between levels.
Another AI, M0USA1, is in charge of the settler cryo bay, but only activates when a settlement protocol is run or the cryo bay is emergency-detached.
